Ibiza Airport (IBZ)
City Orientation and Maps

(Ibiza, Spain)

The island of Ibiza is perhaps the most famous of the Balearic Islands and lies off the eastern coast of mainland Spain, close to Benidorm. Much of life on the island is centred around Ibiza Town (Eivissa), the capital, located on the south-eastern coast. Ibiza Airport (IBZ) is just minutes away from the town, being situated to the south-west.

Many major resorts can be found around the shoreline of Ibiza, where the sandy beaches and tourist developments are amongst the main draw cards. The top beaches include the Cala Benirrás - in the Sant Miquel area, the Cala Mastella - close to Sant Carles de Peralta, the Cala de Boix - near Sant Carles, the Cala Xarraca - west of Portinatx, and the Cala Codolars - on the western coast, close to Sant Antoni. Several million visitors arrive on the island each year, a large proportion of which fly into the airport in search of sun, sand and the island's legendary nightlife.

Ibiza Airport (IBZ) Maps: Important City Districts

Many tourists on the island of Ibiza head straight for Eivissa, located alongside a protected harbour area and full of tourist attractions. This enchanting town offers a diverse selection of restaurants, together with nightclubs and plenty of history, with many old buildings clustered around the old walled town area of D'Alt Vila, which enjoys an elevated position and good views. The Passeig de Vara de Rey is a popular and prominent promenade in Ibiza Town and runs in a westerly direction, towards the Avinguda d'Espanya and ultimately Ibiza Airport (IBZ).

Other towns and villages of interest include Santa Eulària d'es Riu on the eastern coast, a prominent town containing a reasonable collection of beaches and attractions. Portinatx is located on the northern coast and is the region's main tourist resort, while Sant Miquel is one of the biggest inland towns on Ibiza, close to the Port de San Miguel, where you will find many fine beaches.
